Punta Del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort in Talikud Island Samal

Punta Del Sol: Talikud Island Mangrove Beach Resort

Punta Del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort is located at Purok Bombyl, Brgy. Dadatan, Talikud Island,IGaCOS (Island Garden City of Samal), Philippines.

Today I’m going to share my experiences on one of the resorts of Talikud Island. To clarify, Talikud island is part of the Kaputian District of IGaCOS, a 4th class city in the province of Davao del Norte.

If you searched online, there are two Punta Del Sol resorts in Samal. One is the Punta Del Sol Beach Resort in Barangay of Catagman, Samal District, Davao del Norte, where I haven’t visited yet but I will, I promise! And so the other one is the Punta Del Sol Mangrove Sanctuary in Talikud Island. The latter is the one that I’m going to share with you today. Also, I will show you some of the photos we’ve taken as well.

Take me to Punta del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort!

Back in 2017, we went there with a close friend of mine. I know it has been a while but I believe it’s never too late to document my adventures and share it here. While I was browsing, I found Talikud Island Mangrove Beach Resort and the photos are the same so maybe they have changed the name? However, you can check out there FB page and website for more info. And if you do know, please confirm on the comment section below.

Punta Del Sol Mangrove Sanctuary - Talikud Island

Punta Del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort / Sanctuary

This Mangrove Beach Resort is the second resort I’ve visited in Talikud. The first one is the famous Isla Reta.  At that time, we are looking for a relaxing place to escape from the city with fewer people but within our budget, and we found this place!

The Punta Del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort Direct Boat

How To Get There?

There are three ways to get there from Davao city.

First Option: Davao Sta. Ana Port – Talikud Island Mansod Port – Resort (This is the route that we took!)

First, we have the easiest and less travel time option. There are two means of transportation, boat, and habal-habal(motorcycle), for this trip. Before you ride a boat at Sta. Ana port, you need to visit their office at the Punta del Sol building first for your tickets and reservations. Upon entering the port, it will be on the left side. You can also ask the guards for assistance. They have exclusive boats that will take you directly to Mansod port in Talikud Island.

Upon arriving on the Mansod port, ride a habal-habal going to the resort. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride but it’ll be worth it! 🙂

  • Boat (Sta Ana port – Mansod port) – Php 100
  • Habal-habal (Mansod port – Resort) – Php 30

Boat Schedules

Weekdays for Day Tour and Overnight

  • 8:00 AM Sta.Ana Port to Mansod Port
  • 3:30 PM Mansod Port to Sta.Ana Port

Weekend and Holiday Schedule

However, to avail their direct boat transfers for weekends and holidays, you may need to contact them for boat schedules and rates.

SECOND Option: Davao Sta. Ana Wharf to Talikud

This option is for those who aren’t able to avail of the resort’s direct boat. So instead of riding their exclusive boats, you will travel via a commercial liner boat from Sta Ana Wharf to Sta. Cruz Port in Talikud Island. After that, ride habal-habal from Sta. Cruz Port to the resort. It will be less hassle on your part since there are more available boats and schedules to choose from.

  • Boat (Sta Ana port – Sta. Cruz Port) – Php 80
  • Habal-habal (Sta. Cruz Port – Resort) – Php 50

Boat Schedule:

Davao to Sta. Cruz Port

  • Pacific – 10:00 am
  • Jessa – 12:30 pm
  • Talikud Express – 1:30 PM
  • Z Enryh – 1:30 pm
  • Grace – 3:00 pm
  • Hof Gorei – 4:00 pm

Sta. Cruz Port to Davao

  • Talikud Express – 6:30 am
  • Jessa – 7:00 am
  • Hof Gorei – 8:00 am
  • Pacific – 3:00 pm
Third Option: Davao – Kaputian – Talikud Mansod Port  – Resort

Heading to the resort on the third option will be the longest of the three. First, ride a bus or a van. I can’t remember exactly which street the terminal of Island City Express bus is in Davao but I know it is somewhere in Uyanguren. Anyhow, you can ride the bus at Km. 11 Sasa wharf going to Kaputian. Or rent a chartered van from Davao to Kaputian and vice versa. From Kaputian, ride another boat going to Sta. Cruz Port of Talikud island. After that, ride another motorcycle from Sta. Cruz Port to the Punta Del Sol Mangrove Sanctuary.

On the other hand, I haven’t tried this path so I can’t tell you how much it will all cost.

  • Bus (Davao to Kaputian) – Php 90 (Found this online so I’m not so sure.)
  • Boat (Kaputian to Sta. Cruz Port) – Php 30
  • Habal-habal (Sta. Cruz Port to Resort) – Php 50

I contacted them through their FB page and they suggest you pay the downpayment for your reservations. You can visit their office at the Sta. Ana wharf.

The highlight of the Mangrove Beach Resort

Overall

Above all, being away from the hustle and bustle of the city once in a while is always a great idea. Though you can not expect too much because of their 1-star accommodation but just the place itself is the perfect destination to unwind.

For Instagram lovers like me, no worries, you’ll get the perfect shots. It only depends on your creativity. 😉

Punta Del Sol Mangrove Beach Resort photos (1)

In the morning, when the tide is low, you’ll be able to see lots of different sea creatures in your balcony. How cool is that?!

The beach may not be as clear as the other beaches in Talikud but you’ll enjoy swimming in the pristine water until 7:00 pm.

To sum it up, I had a great time on this quick getaway. An overnight stay is all I need to revamp myself and be ready for the days ahead.

Most importantly, I’d like to give a huge shout out to my migo because without him I won’t be able to have all the beautiful photos above. It was fun being your model for a day. haha!

So that’s my throwback adventure, I hope you enjoyed it!
