The Incredible Magpupungko Beach and Tidal Pools in Siargao

Magpupungko Beach and Tidal Pools in Siargao

Magpupungko beach and tidal pools is just one of the many natural attractions you can find in Siargao that should definitely be on top of your list to visit. This gem is home to a beautiful white beach and natural pools where you can swim on low tide.

How to Get there:

If you haven’t been to Siargao, I have shared my travel guide on how you can get to this beautiful island.

Depending on where you are staying, it will take an hour or two just to get to Magpupungko Beach Resort, which is situated at Barangay Consolacion at Pilar, Surigao del Norte. For us, we stayed at General Luna so it took us an hour and 30 minutes. We got lost a little but the people there are very accommodating whenever we asked for directions.

You can access this place via a habal-habal (motorcycle ride) to the town of Pilar that will cost you around Php 350 – Php 500 depending on where you are from. But what we did was we actually rented a motorcycle for Php 450/day and we drove our way there. Don’t be scared if you get lost, people there are very nice and approachable.  Take note that renting motorcycle will cost you between Php 350 – Php 500 but not more than Php 500.

I know it’s quite a long drive but you shouldn’t be disappointed because it is well worth it. And going there, you won’t be stressed with traffic. You will definitely enjoy the beautiful view and it really felt like getting lost with nature. hehe

For only Php 50 ( $1), you can enjoy a wonderful view and experience a priceless adventure. The rock pools, as well as the scenery, are incredibly awesome.
