Blog Update: A Lesson Learned & Exciting New Beginnings

Blog Update I Made a Big Mistake (and What’s New on My Wander Story)

Hey there, wanderers! 🌍

It’s been a while since I last shared a personal update here on My Wander Story. Over the past few months, I’ve been quietly reviewing my blog — trying out new tools, exploring ways to improve it, and reflecting on how I can make this space more meaningful for all of you who’ve followed my journey since day one.

But in the middle of all that… I discovered something that made me laugh, cringe, and shake my head all at once.

The Lesson Learned (A.K.A. My Rookie Mistake 😅)

For a long time, I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t receiving any emails or inquiries. I thought maybe my blog’s traffic had dropped, or maybe I needed to focus more on SEO to bring readers back.

Turns out, it wasn’t Google’s fault — it was mine.

Yesterday, I found out that my Gmail import setup hadn’t been working for nearly two years! That means my Gmail wasn’t downloading any emails from my hosting account… and the worst part? The replies I sent out never actually got delivered.

When I traced back what happened, I remembered that a few years ago, I missed paying for my hosting and domain. The site went offline for about a month — and since I was a first-time mom then, I was completely wrapped up in motherhood (and loving every second of it). Naturally, my blog took the backseat, and checking emails just wasn’t a priority.

When I finally got my blog back online, I forgot to recheck and verify my email settings. And that tiny oversight caused two years’ worth of missed messages. Rookie mistake, indeed.

So, if you tried reaching out between mid-2023 and September 2025, I owe you a huge apology. 💌 I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to contact me — and I’m so sorry for not replying sooner. The good news? My email setup is now fixed and working perfectly again!

What’s New on My Wander Story

Even though I’ve had my share of blogging hiccups, I’m excited to say that this experience sparked a renewed sense of motivation. Here’s what’s new and coming up on My Wander Story:

🌏 We’re Now Open for Guest Posts!

This has been a dream project of mine for so long, and it’s finally happening — My Wander Story is now open for guest posting!

If you’re passionate about travel, have a story to share, or want to inspire others with your adventures, I’d love to feature your work here.

A small fee applies (just enough to help with website upkeep and hosting costs), but in return, your story will reach a growing community of travel lovers from around the world.

If you’re interested, feel free to message me for the full details. I’d love to collaborate and help your travel story reach more readers!

🤝 Open for Brand Collaborations

Another exciting step — My Wander Story is now open for brand collaborations!

I’ll be honest: I’m still learning the ropes of working with brands, but I believe the best way to grow is by doing. If you represent a travel, lifestyle, or family-related brand that aligns with what I do, I’d love to collaborate and create meaningful content together.

Let’s connect and explore how we can bring your brand’s story to life through authentic travel storytelling.

✈️ New Travel Stories Coming Soon

Despite my busy “mom life,” I’ve managed to sneak in a few incredible trips lately. My most recent one? A magical two-week trip to Japan during Sakura Season earlier this year. 🌸

It was surreal — the cherry blossoms, the food, the culture — everything felt like a dream. I can’t wait to share all the details and tips with you soon here on the blog.

These days, balancing travel and motherhood is a whole new adventure on its own. My little one just turned three, and she’s starting to enjoy a bit of independence — giving me more room to focus again on what I love doing most: writing, creating, and connecting with all of you.

So expect more travel stories, reflections, and maybe even a few parenting-and-travel lessons sprinkled in.

💛 Final Thoughts

Running My Wander Story has always been more than just blogging for me — it’s about sharing genuine experiences and connecting with people who love discovering the world.

Mistakes happen (as you can see!), but they also remind us that every journey — even one behind a computer screen — is a learning experience.

Thank you for sticking around, for reading, and for being part of my story. Here’s to new beginnings, better systems, and many more adventures ahead!

Until next time — happy wandering! 🌿
