BuDa Road Trip - A Relaxing Weekend Getaway (1)

BuDa Road Trip: A Relaxing Weekend Getaway

BuDa? Have you heard about it? Buda is the boundary of Davao City and Bukidnon Province that’s why they called in BuDa, short for Bukidnon-Davao.

For most Davaoeños, it is a favorite getaway because of its cool and fresh mountain air. So, if you don’t mind traveling around 62 kilometers or a 1-2 hour-long road trip from Davao City proper, this is a great place!

Last month we went to BuDa. For the last two posts I did for the blog I shared my reviews on the two resorts that we checked out in Buda. The two resorts are Adrian & Alice Place and Reel Place. If you haven’t read my thoughts about these places yet, you might want to check it out.

Now, I’m going to share with you my whole experience on our relaxing weekend getaway to Buda.

We drove from Davao to BuDa on a Saturday afternoon with the goal to experience the shoe house at Adrian & Alice Place. The road going to Bukidnon is very picturesque that even before you reach your destination, the ride itself is already a wonderful attraction. Enjoy those mountains and relaxing green scenery along the way which makes the road trip extra fun!

Adrian and Alice’s Place

Adrian & Alice’s Place is popular for its Shoe House. Since it’s located in Buda, the little Baguio of Mindanao, you can definitely experience the coolness of the air and be able to commune with nature while immersing yourself with the pine-scented breeze. A great place for bird watching as well. And enjoy a mountain sunset view from the Shoe house. 😉

Now, just right across the Adrian & Alice Place is the Reel Place resort, another resort that you can definitely check out when you’re in Buda.

Reel Place

The Reel Place offers affordable accommodation, some recreational facilities that guests can enjoy, and a great spot for photos. Try out their Zipline, hanging bridge and Monkey Bridge. And if you have kids, they have a playground your kids will enjoy.

We also dine in their restaurant to taste their famous bulalo, it was good!

And then, we went on a short trip to Bemwa Farm and Overview Nature and Culture Park before going back to Davao City.

You can check out their Reel Place FB Page for more info

Bukidnon Bemwa Farm Road trip (1)
Bemwa Farm

Just a few minutes away from Reel place is the famous Bemwa Farm. This fascinating beauty of nature is so perfect for a cold summer getaway.  It is located at Barangay Datu Salumay, Marilog District.

For only Php 50 per person entrance fee, you can enjoy and experience the place for the whole day. They have a section where you can see plants and flowers that you can buy. You don’t want to taste and buy freshly harvested vegetables such as kale, lettuce, and anything you can possibly add to your salad.

It was raining when we went there so we aren’t able to explore the whole farm a lot as it’s quite muddy and slippery.

Overview Nature and Culture Park (Quezon, Bukidnon)

And our last destination, before the sun goes down, we visited a well-known place perfect for sightseeing and a rest area from the long road trip. And it’s FREE!  The place is called Overview Nature and Culture Park. Located at Kipolot, Palacapao, Quezon, Bukidnon and just along the highway so it’s hard to miss this place when you’re traveling to Bukidnon-Davao Route.
The cool breeze, the mountain view, the sea of clouds, and a relaxing vibe are just a few reasons why in just a few minutes of staying there I fell in love with it. Worth visiting!
