Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort in Cagayan de Oro

Ahoy there! It’s summertime! No classes for kids and a perfect time to spend some quality time with the family.

Did you get your much-awaited vacation? Or are you planning on taking a vacation with your loved ones, friends, or just by yourself? If so, I have one place you might put on your list!

The Philippines, as we all know, are very famous with its amazing white sand beaches. But this time, I thought it would be fun to go somewhere kids and adults would love. So today I’m sharing my experience and some guidelines of the famous spot in Cagayan de Oro, the Seven Seas Waterpark & Resort. I went there in November last year and it was fun! Now, I’m going to share it with you.

Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort in Cagayan de Oro

Seven Seas Waterpark & Resort is the largest pirate-themed waterpark in the Philippines. It was opened in November 2017. They have 10 exciting waterslides, a kids water play area, a 400 meter long lazy river, a dual wave pool, and so much more.

How to Get There?

Location: Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental, Philippines (a town next to Cagayan de Oro City)

The Waterpark is 28.3 km away from Laguindingan Airport, approximately around 30 minutes of travel time. But if you’re coming from Cagayan de Oro, you can stay on the Butuan – CDO – Iligan Road and then make a right after SnR. After that, go straight along Bulua Terminal, then make a left on the Opol – Bulua Diversion Road. Stay on that road until you cross the bridge and see a gas station, the park will be on your right!

Overall

Seven Seas Waterpark will be your next favorite summer, fun and adventurous, destination. It’s clean, organized, and well-maintained. The staffs are attentive and there were plenty of lifeguards. So it feels safe for non-swimmers (like me). 😉

This place is full of adventurous and challenging activities. Those extreme challenges are only for the brave souls and not for the faint-hearted people. I’m serious guys and it’s worth trying out. And if you feel like recording it with your GoPro, unfortunately, they won’t allow you to do it yourself while sliding. Your safety is much more important to them which is good.

On the day we went, it was a holiday (All Soul’s Day) and there were plenty of people but there was no long queue. In this type of place, it is not unusual that you cannot bring food inside however, the cost of food and drinks is reasonable.

We didn’t get any cottages but they do have a locker. We presented 1 valid ID and paid Php 50 then they gave us a wristband where you will put your key. So, whenever we go for a slide, we always make sure to check our wristband from time-to-time.

Aside from the super hot weather, the only thing that bothers me was, we have to carry and bring our own life-buoy/floaters/pads in every slide. Going up the stairs for a minute/s slide is a very good exercise. haha!

When you go there, be prepared! Sunblock and courage are the two things you need to experience the fun and adventure this resort can offer.

All in all, it was worth the long drive. I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely look forward to visiting it again. Well-recommended this summer!
