QUEZON, BUKIDNON: Overview Nature and Culture Park – A quick stop from a long drive with an amazing view to relax.
After visiting Dahilayan and Seven Seas, we are on our way back to Davao city. It’s a long drive but we had fun in our short vacation so it’s totally worth it.
But on our way back, we decided to stop by at the Overview Nature and Culture Park just to check it out and a little break from hours of sitting in the car.
This park is located at Kipolot, Palacapao, Quezon Bukidnon. Its access point would be at Sayre Highway Quezon Bukidnon (Bukidnon-Davao route). Accessible to any modes of transportation and the best part is IT’S FREE! Yes, no entrance fee and open anytime.
This breathtaking place overlooking Bukidnon, as the name implies, is perfect for sightseeing, a rest area for travelers, and shop at the local vendors there.
What to Expect at Overview Nature and Culture Park in Quezon, Bukidnon?
Bukidnon, which means “highlander” or “mountain dweller”, is popular for its mountain ranges, and this overview park in Quezon Bukidnon is one of the best spots to see them. It’s hard to ignore this area since it’s just along the highway when you’re traveling the Bukidnon-Davao (BuDa) route. Approximately 120 kilometers from Davao city.
This spot is a favorite stopover where you can see the panoramic view of the mountains and experience the cool breeze and fresh air. For added bonus, enjoy taking pictures with the sea of clouds (if you arrive late afternoon or early morning).
Inside the park
A big gazebo on top and sculptures of indigenous people are placed around the place. The sculptures remind me of the artworks you’ll find in Davao’s Peoples Park. I did a little research and found out that the creator of those sculptures is the same, no other than the known Mindanao artist, Kublai Millan. I love how it exhibits the early inhabitants of Bukidnon and most of them playing different tribal instruments.
There were also souvenir shops on your way to the park. You can support the locals by buying some for your loved ones.
Overall
To be honest, I am very fascinated with the entire scenery of Bukidnon and its cold weather. We all know that here in the Philippines, most of the time hot and humid. Summer all year as they say. So it feels so good to visit some cold places without breaking the bank. So on your next road trip to BuDa, make sure to drop by this place. You’ll love it!
